Boston Dynamics reveals 'nightmare-inducing' new robot called Handle!

A terrifying video from Boston Dynamics of Handle the robot in action might just change your mind.

The towering 6ft robot is the latest brainchild of Google-owned Company Boston Dynamics.

The two-wheeled robot was recorded lifting up 100lbs crates, gliding across ramps like skater Tony Hawk in his prime and effortlessly jumping onto a 4ft platform in the latest clip.

Combining wheels with legs and a stabilization system, the Handle looks like the monstrous offspring of a robot and a Segway. According to Boston Dynamics, it’s actually much more efficient than its legged counterparts. The robot is capable of carrying a heavier load on a small footprint, and is expected to be less expensive to build than the company’s humanoid or legged robots.

"Handle uses electric power to operate both electric and hydraulic actuators, with a range of about 15 miles on one battery charge”, the robotics company says.

Boston Dynamics explains: “Handle uses many of the same dynamics, balance and mobile manipulation principles found in the quadruped and biped robots we build, but with only about 10 actuated joints, it is significantly less complex."
