YouTube may end the 30-second inescapable ads!
The 30 seconds of advertising on YouTube has always the potential to ruin the moment. But it seems that the service could disappear by the end of 2018 according to the information of Campaign.
The Internet has always a philosophy of free accessing to any content. However, this is not entirely true. The fact is that many services are dependent on the business model of online advertising.
This year, both advertisers and users have been unhappy with the 30 seconds of publicity at the start of the video. According to information gathered by Campaign, Google would soon end it by 2018.
"As part of that, we’ve decided to stop supporting 30-second unskippable ads as of 2018 and focus instead on formats that work well for both users and advertisers," said a Google spokesman.
Google also says that 20-second non-skippable ads will continue, and it will also be making heavier use of so-called ‘bumper ads’: unskippable 6-second ads.
