WhatsApp adds a touch of Snapchat

Facebook seems really like Snapchat feature, to the point of copying its ideas one by one. After copying the Stories last summer by launching Instagram Stories, Facebook is now focusing on WhatsApp.

"We are excited to announce that, coinciding with WhatsApp's 8th birthday on February 24, we are reinventing the status feature. Starting today, we are rolling out an update to status, which allows you to share photos and videos with your friends and contacts on WhatsApp in an easy and secure way." WhatsApp says on its blog.  this feature proposes to share photos, GIFs, and ephemeral videos. These will disappear after 24 hours... just like Snapchat. WhatsApp specifies that content, like messages, will be encrypted.
"Statutes" is being deployed on all of WhatsApp's applications, whether on iOS, Android or Windows Phone.
