Stranger Move From Facebook: Friends Day!
When Facebook users across the world logged in to the social network this week they were met with a cheesy video wishing them a "Happy Friends Day!"
Facebook's users will, be used to its round-up videos that celebrate minor mile stones such as joining the social network and anniversaries of becoming friends on Facebook. But the company has now taken it one step further and made up a holiday.
In fact, last Saturday, February 4, was Facebook's 13th birthday, a day we call Friends Day! A completely new notion that Zuckerberg's company adopted!
For the past two years Facebook has celebrated the made up holiday on the anniversary of its launch. But this year it has decided to buck that trend, sharing personalized videos with its billions of users today - February 2.
When Facebook held its first Friends Day two years ago, Mark Zuckerberg said: "Today is a day to celebrate friends. It's also Facebook's birthday, but today isn't about celebrating us. It's about celebrating friendship."
