Samsung Launches Exynos 9 Series Processor

Samsung announced today the launch of its latest premium application processor (AP), the Exynos 9 Series 8895.


Today, Samsung unveils the first processor chipset to take advantage of 10-nanometer FinFET process technology with improved 3D transistor structure, which allows up to 27% higher performance while consuming 40% less power when compared to 14nm technology.

It is an octa-core processor consisting of four of Samsung’s 2nd generation custom designed CPU cores combined with four Cortex-A53.


The Exynos 8895 also boasts a powerful 4G LTE modem that supports the aggregation of five different frequencies for faster download speeds up to 1 Gbps.


On the graphic side, the Mali-G71 of the Exynos 8895 delivers unsurpassed multimedia experience thanks to performances optimized by 60% compared to the GPU of the old generation. In terms of video, Samsung promises video support 4K Ultra HD up to 120 fps.

The Exynos 8895 also dedicated to improving the quality and safety of the fingerprint reader, iris scanner and object recognition through the smartphone photo sensor.

The Exynos 9 Series 8895 is currently in mass production.
