MWC 2017: Meizu Unveils Super mCharge

Meizu took advantage of the MWC 2017 to unveil the Super mCharge, an ultra-fast charge that recharges a smartphone in just 20 minutes.

At MWC 2017, Meizu did not introduce new smartphones. On the other hand, the Chinese manufacturer took advantage of the show to unveil a new fast charge solution: the Super mCharge.

According to Meizu, the Super mCharge can charge a smartphone by up to 30 percent in just five minutes and a 100% recharge in just 20 minutes. The company claims that this makes it 11 times faster than the iPhone 7 Plus charging, and 3.6 times faster than the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge's fast charging feature.

On its stand, during its demo at MWC, the company showed off this charging technology on a smartphone packing a 3000mAh battery. The smartphone charged up to 30 percent in five minutes, 60 percent in ten minutes, 85 percent in fifteen minutes, and fully charged in under twenty minutes.

Meizu isn't the first Chinese company to innovate when it comes to fast-charging technologies. OPPO demoed its Super VOOC technology last year at MWC, but the tech is yet to make its way into a phone.

Meizu in another hand hasn't mentioned when it will bring its fast charging solution for its phones.
