HTC Prepares a Mobile Virtual Reality Headset
HTC could launch a new virtual reality mobile headset to "succeed" the Vive. "We have a good plan in terms of combining mobility with VR," said Chia-lin Chang, HTC's president of global sales.
HTC is preparing to launch a new VR headset entering more or less in this second category. The device would be compatible with the HTC U Ultra, the phablet recently presented by the Taiwanese company and will release in early March.
"Vive is very top end, and in the coming months you'll see our plans in terms of mobility and VR, and it's not a phone slapped onto a headset," he said. "It'd be a different thing". which mean, the HTC virtual reality headset will not work like the Daydream of Google or the Gear VR of Samsung. Adding "We're a VR company, we're going to have something". To leaves the mystery as to the precise format that this headset will take.
Maybe we will have more information at the Mobile World Congress at the end of the month.
