Facebook is coming to your TV!
Facebook announced the arrival of an application for Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV. It will also be found on Samsung's smart TV.
Today Facebook announced its new video app for TV, which will roll out soon to app stores for Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Samsung Smart TV.
With the app, you can watch videos shared by friends or Pages you follow, top live videos from around the world, and recommended videos based on your interests. You can also catch up on videos you’ve saved to watch later, as well as revisit videos you’ve watched, shared or uploaded.
Facebook also announced few changes that will happen in the mobile app:
The default sound on all videos: until now, the user had to touch the video to activate the sound. This will no longer be the case. Facebook specifies that the sound will be muted if the user has put his smartphone in vibrate/silence mode. In addition, it is possible to disable the automatic playback of the sound (or video directly) by making a spin in the settings of Facebook.
Better management of vertical videos: these videos will take up more space on the screen.
Have the video superimposed: the user can minimize the video and continue to scroll on its newsfeed. On Android, it will also be possible to deport videos by leaving the Facebook application and doing something else.
