Android 2.3 Gingerbread: this is the End, After 6 Years of Good and Loyal Services!
Released in December 2010, Android 2.3 Gingerbread is dead after 6 years of loyal services, Google will not support it anymore. Android gets a major update every year, that why it is also necessary to say farewell to the very older versions!
Every year, Google launches a new version of its mobile OS, Android. At the moment we are on Android 7.0 Nougat, and the next version is under development which will be unveiled at the Google I/O 2017. Therefore, Google has decided to end its "veteran" mobile OS, the Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The end of the support for Android 2.3 by Google:
Actually, Google has presented the version 10.2 of Google play, which will allow to use Google Sing-In, Google Fit data and improve the Smart Lock. But also marks the end of support for Android 2.3 Gingerbread in all its versions.
Besides, it was the one that launched the famous Nexus S, one of the most respected models of the range created by Google for developers.Unfortunately, these kinds of phones can no longer take advantage of Google Play services because a phone was condemned to remain frozen in time without hope of massive update of its applications.
Fortunately, few people are using this version in 2017, appearing on only 1% of Android phones around the world. It must be said that using a device on this time these days must be a very frustrating experience. But this version will remain in our hearts, forever.
