Samsung will not present its Galaxy S8 at MWC in Barcelona!
Samsung officially confirms that the Galaxy S8 will not be presented at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona at the end of February.
After the fiasco of the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung decided to take its time to present its future smartphone Galaxy S8. For several years, the Korean group presented its smartphone at the beginning of the year at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) in February, before launching it quickly in March or April, a strategy that worked particularly well for the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge.
This will not be the case this year. Confirming several rumors of a postponed launch after the show, Koh Dong-jin, head of Samsung's mobile division, said the Galaxy S8 will not be presented during the event.
He did not give a new date for the smartphone launch and expectations therefore revolve around a dedicated event around mid-April 2017, possibly held in New York. Samsung provides time to refine its next smartphone that should be full of new technologies and propose a new Bixby digital assistant.
