Facebook need to add another moneymaking element, to do that, Facebook starts showing ads to the people who watch videos on the social network.
According to Facebook, the users are watching 100 million hours’ worth of videos a day on the social network. What makes the social network could decide to integrate advertisements in videos. Mark Zuckerberg isn’t a fan of pre-roll ads of the sort you see on YouTube, so Facebook’s overlords are keen to test a mid-roll ad format instead.
The new “mid-roll” ad format, which will give video publishers the chance to insert ads into their clips after people have watched them for at least 20 seconds, on videos that run for at least 90 seconds. Facebook will sell the ads, and share the revenue with publishers on a 55-45 basis, with 55 percent of all sales going to the publisher.
This is not the first time that the company is considering mid-roll advertising. These ads were already tested on Facebook Live, In August 2016.
