CES 2017: Is the Xiaomi conference the disappointment of the show?
The Chinese manufacturer in the press conference presented three product Mi MIX White, Mi Router HD and Mi TV 4. But sadly marketed only in China.
Hugo Barra, Global VP at Xiaomi kicked off its conference by announcing the white model of Mi MIX, it has a 6.5-inch 1080p, rounded-corner screen, but it's packed into a ceramic body that Xiaomi says is around the same size as a regular 5.5-inch smartphone. That's thanks to the lack of bezels, including almost no "forehead" at the top of the Philippe Starck-designed phone. Xiaomi placed a piezoelectric actuator behind the glass to produce audible sound for phone calls. It also uses a reduced-size rear camera sensor that made the lack of a forehead possible. The reste of the specs are equally impressive.
Among the list of items, Xiaomi announced at CES the new Mi Router HD. The router is a 2600Mbps 802.11ac Wi-Fi router with 4x4 MU-MIMO functionality, four high-gain PCB array antennae, and Qualcomm IPQ8064 network processor. But along with that it also includes a choice of either 1TB or 8GB of surveillance quality hard drive that can be used for backing up your devices and syncing with your Dropbox account. All of this is housed in an aluminum alloy body.
And the Mi TV 4, Mi TV 4 is a smart TV that will come in panel size of 49, 55 and 65-inch. It is just 4.9mm slim and flaunts a unique transparent stand for a unique appearance. The 65-inch panel variant has a modular design with a standalone 4K display and the new Mi TV Bar. The TV bar houses the motherboard along with two up firing speakers, a subwoofer, and two rear wireless satellite speakers. It is the first sound system offering from Xiaomi with Dolby Atmos support.
All those products will be launched in china in upcoming months.
